OUR STORY

We launched in 2024, but the story goes back over forty years. From exploring the River Dart as a child, to training on very same river with the Royal Navy, charter operations and then service with the British Army, the path to Storm RIBs has spanned five continents, most of the earth's oceans and thousands of hours at sea.

FROM THE RIVER DART

TO FIVE CONTINENTS

Born in 2024, Storm Marine designs functional and sustainable inflatable boats for those that share a love of the sea and demand the best. But the story begins much earlier.

My earliest memories of the sea start as a child, motoring up and down the River Dart on a college whaler, under the watchful eyes of young Naval Officers, including my father.

Fast forward a decade or so and I'm at the College, this time in uniform. Privileged to spend the beginning of my Naval career overlooking the River Dart, I quickly moved to sea - on Frigates and Minehunters before time at the Defence Diving School and diving teams.

THE BEST BOATS ARE

USED THE MOST AND LAST THE LONGEST

Time spent on Seariders, Pacifics and Geminis taught me that the best boats are those that are used the most and last the longest. And in 2023, a desire to bring the very best leisure inflatables and inshore RIBs is born.

The ask - to produce craft with the longevity and quality demanded in the military, whilst still being smart enough for a tender garage or bathing platform.

This is why we use Hypalon and Aluminium for most of our inflatables and all of our RIBs - not only are they tougher than alternative choices, they also present the best options for our planet at the end of their life.

This sustainability mission is important - we need to build better boats for us and our ocean.

In a world of throw away, we no longer see an ‘away'. We aim to build longer lasting boats - born for the sea, made for a lifetime.

FORM AND FUNCTION

EVERYTHING HAS PURPOSE

We build RIBs and Inflatables where everything has a purpose and nothing is left to chance. Where the best materials are combined with layouts and model specifications that have been shaped by decades on the water.

The detail matters - whether it's the precise location of a grab handle or lifeline, the best position for a top mount throttle or the easiest chartplotter to see, use and adjust in heavy seas and fading light - our specifications are chosen wisely.

This culminates in RIBs and inflatables that we love to use ourselves and are proud to sell to others. And it's why we put the industry's longest warranty on our boats, from bow to stern.
